We protect the most vulnerable in society, we work tirelessly to catch the perpetrators of crime, we are visible in the heart of our community and we are always here when you need to call us.

We wouldn’t be able to deliver any of this without our people.

From our neighbourhood policing teams who are based locally and focus on community resilience, early intervention, crime reduction and prevention to our response and patrol officers who are specially trained officers to race to emergencies our main purpose is to serve our communities to make them safer and stronger.

It’s not just our high visibility officers either. We have many other people that may go unseen but do some of the most important work for our communities. There are the call handlers that answer your emergency calls, the detectives that investigate crime and the criminal justices teams who work tirelessly to get you the justice you deserve.

Our police officers could not do the job they do without the support of police staff. From analysts who study evidence so that our resources are effective to finance teams making sure wages are paid and HR staff recruiting the right people for every role – we couldn’t do it without them.
