We are looking for a Digital Forensics Unit Technical Manager on a full time, permanent basis.
As the digital forensics technical lead for Derbyshire Constabulary, you will maintain and develop the Force’s UKAS accreditation and uphold quality standards.
Drawing upon your expertise in digital forensics, as well as your knowledge of digital device examinations, you will ensure adherence to BS EN ISO/IEC 17025 and the Forensic Science Regulator’s Codes of Practice and Conduct, focusing on digital devices and the evidence extracted, such as text messages, videos, audio files, pictures and internet searches.
You’ll have responsibility for, and oversee technical operations and quality of all laboratory activities,. This will involve conducting internal audits and peer reviews to ensure that standards are upheld, and that policies and procedures are always correctly followed, validating evidence that is permissible and can support the prosecution of offenders.
Adopting a continuous improvement approach, you will identify solutions to problems and contribute to the development of policies, procedures and practices, such as the Technical Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), always ensuring that the needs of both internal and external stakeholders are met.

In this role, you will be given relevant internal and external training from day one, in addition to working as part of a supportive and friendly team, where teamwork is paramount.
